July 16, 2021 – Pixl Evolution is delighted to welcome Jo Beirne and Chris “Beef” Johnson to its new Pixl Touring & Entertainment division. Jo joins the team as Business Development Manager, and Beef will be stepping into his new Pixl role as Project Manager.

As a member of Entertainment Technology Partners, Pixl’s footprint is global, and resources are unlimited. The new Pixl Touring & Entertainment team will work closely with the American-based LMG Touring & Entertainment to expand their services in Europe and beyond.

v

“We are excited to have Jo and Beef join the growing Pixl and ETP teams and are confident they’ll make an immediate positive impact,”

-Craig Mitchell, Managing Director of LMG Touring & Entertainment.

Founded by a group of like-minded technical video specialists, Pixl has supported concert touring and music productions along with corporate and special events from the start. The team shares more than 200 years of combined industry experience and works closely with clients to deliver their events without losing the personal touch.

The senior management team has been responsible for the delivery of some of the most iconic musical events, such as the Brits, Glastonbury, V Festival, Oasis, Coldplay, U2 and many more. The creation of a Touring division was a natural progression in the next phase of expansion for Pixl.

Jo Beirne, Business Development Manager

Jo joins the Pixl team with more than 23 years of experience in the music industry. She started working at Virgin Records in 1997 and then went to work with BAMN management, where she was introduced to live touring. After supporting Westlife’s first tour, she joined XL Video, where she worked for over 15 year and was at the forefront of putting live touring video on the map.

She has been responsible for project managing and coordinating video worldwide for touring acts including The Killers, James Blunt, Gorillaz, Radiohead, Robbie Williams and many more.

Chris “Beef” Johnson, Project Manager

Beef started his career at a small live events company back in 2004. He worked his way up to run the video department before becoming an in-house board technician. The company was acquired by XL Video, where he first met and worked with Pixl’s Lee Spencer as well as Jo Beirne. He quickly discovered a passion for LED and found himself traveling the world working with both corporate and touring clients. He has supported a wide range of high-profile events, including Samsung phone launches, large-scale festivals such as Creamfields, and much more.

In 2013, he went freelance and has toured the world with bands such as The Libertines, The XX, Robyn and The Rolling Stones, whilst still working on specialist corporate events for Google and YouTube.

An electrifying Dizzee Rascal show at the O2 Arena

An electrifying Dizzee Rascal show at the O2 Arena

about.

Our Touring & Entertainment Division were so pleased to have recently worked with Paddy Stewart and Steve Bewley to deliver the LED aspect of an electrifying Dizzee Rascal show at the O2 Arena in London on March 8th, 2023 featuring guest artists to mark 20 years since his debut album boy in da corner. This sold-out show was a spectacular showcase of the design talent of Steve Bewley of Mandy Lights and some of the latest in event technology, including the use of some of ROE’s latest LED products including BQ4 & V8.

The show’s Designer, Steve Bewley, is a force in the industry, having worked on numerous high-profile events in the UK and around the world, and it was a pleasure to be working with him and his team to create such an incredible show.

Pixl Evolution utilised the top-of-the-line ROE BQ4 LED screens that are known for delivering sharp and vivid visuals and creating an immersive experience for the audience. With over 300 sqm of screen used, Pixl delivered an impressive and visually stunning canvas to feature the captivating and dynamic content created and operated by the creative team at More Eyes Matt Sharp & Pete Thornton

The design of the show was a perfect mix of lighting and LED visuals, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the audience. The LED screens were arranged in two 3-sided towers that were 10 meters tall. Additional BQ4 & ROE Vanish 8 screens were hung in a diamond formation using Kinesys motors allowing for independent automation over both screens which featured centrally above the stage.

This allowed for seamless transitions between visuals throughout the show, captivating the audience with the flow through technology in the V8. This feature ensured that the audience remained engaged and excited throughout the performance.

results.

Overall, the Dizzee Rascal show at the O2 Arena was a testament to the power of technology and design in creating unforgettable live events. With the use of ROE BQ4 & V8 LED screens and the creative talent of Steve Bewley, Pixl Evolution showcased an amazing technical event solution.
